Annie came to triathlon unable to swim and with no bike! She could run (a little), learnt to swim with the then embryonic Team Cherwell in 1998 and received her first triathlon bike for Christmas the same year!
Starting with sprint and standards distances, Annie competed for the Great Britain Age Group Squad, and then moved very successfully up to 1/2 and full Ironman distances, finishing well at both Lanzarote Ironman in 2008 and Barcelona Challenge 2009.
Annie has her Level 2 coaching qualification and hopes to go on to complete Level 3 in the future. Keen to enthuse others and finding coaching extremely rewarding, she coaches for Team Cherwell and Natural Ability.
Andrew Sleight
Andrew has been competing in Triathlon since 1990 and has been with Team Cherwell from its beginning.
As a level 2 coach Andrew has many years experience delivering run, bike and transition sessions at the athletics track for Juniors from novice to national qualification level.
In 2009 he finally put the time into training for and completing IMUK. He will happily provide a coaching point of view on preparation for races that last from 8 minutes (for 8 year olds) to 17 hours (IM cut off) and anything in between.
Michael Beale
Mike comes from a footballing background and upon the birth of his son decided to look for a new competitive sport with less chance of time off work injured!
His first triathlon was at Blenheim in 2006 and he has since completed many races at various distances with the longest being the Vitruvian in 2009.
Mike became a level Level 1 Coach in October 2008.
